Surds
Surds (square roots) essentially form a special section of indices, but they warrant their own attention. They are often not studied on their own and the fact that they follow the same laws as normal indices escapes many people. Knowing how to manipulate surds is vital for survival in any calculus course. This material will hopefully lay down the laws for manipulation of surds and provide the practice needed to master the topic.
