Basic indices are simply about repeated multiplication. This concept is first introduced with algebra in Years 7 and 8 of High School. However, the topic becomes more complicated when division and taking roots are represented by indices. When the three important rules for indices have been learned well, simplication of expressions involving indices becomes straightforward. Hopefully this material will help you firmly grasp those rules and practice using them.
