UOW Maths Degrees

Below is a brief description of each degree. For more detailed information, including entry requirements, programs of study, student comments and graduate interviews, please click on the degree abbreviation.

Standard degrees

	BMath		Bachelor of Mathematics The standard three year degree in Mathematics, that can include a single major in Mathematics or Statistics or a combine Maths or Stats major with a major in practically any other discipline offered by the University of Wollongong.
	BMathEd		Bachelor of Mathematics Education (Loftus Campus only) For those who wish to become Mathematics Teachers, this four year degree provides a practical blend of hands-on teaching experience with study in Mathematics. Teaching experience blocks commence in first year and continue throughout every year, to give students broad experience in the class room before taking full responsibility.

Elite degrees

	BMathFin		Bachelor of Mathematics and Finance A four-year Honours degree combining the study of Mathematics, Statistics and Finance. This degree is perfect for students who have a love of Mathematics but who also wish to enter a career in the Finance or Economics worlds.
	BMath(Adv)		Bachelor of Mathematics (Advanced) Available for exceptional students from the HSC, this is a three year degree where students commence their studies at the second year level. Students also complete a number of small research projects that prepare them for future research work in Mathematics.

Combined degrees

	BMath, BCompSc		Bachelor of Mathematics, Bachelor of Computer Science This combines two separate three year degrees into four busy yet fun-filled years. Mathematics forms the background to computer science so these two disciplines are well worth studying together for a more firm background with which to enter the IT world.
	BMath,LLB		Bachelor of Mathematics, Bachelor of Law Combining Mathematics with the study of law has produced some of the best rationalising lawyers. A five year program results in two highly respected degrees.
