Your final mark in MATH162 will be determined as follows.
  Two marks will be calculated for each student:

Your final result will be the higher of the two marks. However, Total B will only be calculated if you sit the Mid-Session Test. Further, attendance at tutorial classes may be taken into account (as mentioned in the subject notice).
Note that you are allowed a calculator (non-programmable, non-alphanumeric keyboard) and a one-page, A4-sized, double-sided summary sheet in all tests and exams in MATH162.
Short Open-Book Tests
Instead of take home assignments, there will be five (5) 30 minute open-book tests,(and you can bring one page A4 double sided summary sheet) held at the beginning of tutorials as follows.

You may have a copy of the Study Notes with you but make sure you study the topic required, and do not just rely on having the Notes.
Tests 1 and 2 will be a combination of multiple-choice questions and short-answer questions. Tests 3, 4 and 5 will consist solely of short-answer questions. Each test will be graded from a possible maximum of 8 marks and you will be able to view your corrected test during the final ten minutes of your tutorial class.
